Story: Consistently accompanied the most stunning achievements. Some of the latter have been one-day wonders and others lifetime accomplishments, but all represent the destinies of men and women bold enough to believe in their dreams. One of the most momentous and noblest such epic adventures was undoubtedly Mahatma Gandhi’s non-violent struggle for India’s independence.
In the early 20th century, Zenith was one of the largest watch manufacturers with an international dimension, and began exporting its timepieces as far afield, as India from 1914 onwards. Indira Nehru, who was to serve as Prime Minister of India from 1966 to 1977, gave a Zenith watch to her friend Mahatma Gandhi. This silver pocket-watch became one of his rare material goods and accompanied his daily life, notably signaling his prayer times thanks to its alarm function. His work inspired a collective region to work to a better future and us to build a better watch.
